I'm Crazy Busy...Sorry For The Delay

So, seriously...if I don't update the site for awhile, I promise that it means that I am insanely busy with shit beyond my control.

In the last two weeks, I have been stacked with projects, which I hope means that my hard work has been paying off thus far. On May 15th, I got a chance to film some footage for Pop's Nightclub at Saint Louis' bi-annual Pointfest, hosted by 105.7 The Point. I suffered a grueling 11 hours of getting beat down by rain and wind to get, what I believe, is some of the most epic and cinematic footage of Saint Louis local bands ever seen!

I am not fucking kidding around...

I'm really excited about what the end result of this project will be...I'm not gonna' speak about it just yet, but just know it will probably engulf my entire summer.

In other completely stoked news...
Tomorrow I am filming two new drum cover videos for independent touring drummer Kyle Jordan Mueller. He has done cover versions of such pop icons as Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Jay-Z, and more, and as a fellow drummer, I envy his creativity and originality. I'm hoping that our partnership on this project will produce some unique looking videos that will further promote his amazing talent.

"The Boy Wonder" Is Now Online

After another two months of work, "The Boy Wonder" is now online and streaming on YouTube and Vimeo!

I would like to thank everyone who helped put the short film together and especially those who took time out to come and act in it (Zack Long, Caleb Frazier, Matthew Watson, Christina Murray). Your involvement means the world to me and I absolutely could not have done this without you...of course I could have found other people, but then again...it just would not have been the same. ;-)

So what's next?
Graduation!
Today at 10:00am, I am graduating from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. I have been going hard the last two years since I transferred over from Webster University in 2009 and am leaving with a perfect...I said perfect 4.0 GPA over five semesters!

Let's hope that can keep me out of the funemployment line.

My bad, it's been almost a month since the last update...

I spent the latter half of April finishing up work on "The Boy Wonder" which is coming out this week! I also had to bounce off of that and quickly gear up for shooting another OPTION//CONTROL live video last night...and by "gearing up" I mean buying new camera equipment!

Yes, Patrick Lawrence films and productions are now oficially in high definition! I am now filming in 1080p with a Canon 7D, so expect only the best for my videos from here on out!

Also, my band Nothing Still, is back in action and playing a "not to be missed" show at The Pageant in Saint Louis, Missouri on Saturday, June 11th! I will try to merge music and film over the next month and update this site with as much news on teh show as possible, just be sure to keep checking out the blog for news.

Tonight is not over yet, and something tells me I might still have one more update brewing...

Week Two In Production

So another weekend went by with more footage being filmed for my upcoming short film. As you can see on the main page, the title for the film is "The Boy Wonder"...I wonder what that could mean...and it is tentatively planned for release on Friday, May 13th.

This weekend, we filmed footage with my good friend, Matthew Alexander Watson, in the city of Clayton, Missouri. Now while I won't show actual footage from the film, I will let you see a short outtake, which had me rolling on the floor behind the camera...enjoy!

If you look at this shot, I'm absolutely pleased with the impromptu lighting set up I put together...until it fell and the bulb burst. Unfortunately we had to move on and finish the scene with as much natural lighting as we could get. 

A big chunk of the proudction is taking place this weekend and should pretty much wrap up the whole thing.

In other news, we had a huge party at The Oz Nightclub for the release of the Saw Her There director's cut. Right now you can view the director's cut on my Vimeo page, but it will be on here in just a few days, after I am able to do some redesigning.
