    Pointfest 28: The Trailer

Three long months of work comes to an end as the 30-minute documentary "Pointfest 28: The Pop's Stage" will premiere live at Pop's Nightclub in Sauget, Illinois. The video features highlights from the local stage at Pointfest, a bi-annual festival put on by Saint Louis' 105.7 The Point. At every festival, Pop's Nightclub brings some of the best local bands to the show, allowing them the chance to play in front of thousands of fans that they would normally not be exposed to. On May 15th, 2011 I was in attendance for the first time, filming the 11 bands who played on that cold, wet, and miserable day. This documentary best represents what thsoe brave bands went through and how badly they wanted to play in front of the Saint Louis faithful.

The film will be split into two parts and released (as always) on YouTube and Vimeo.

    Hold on to your butts.

By the way, Hummingbird Heartbeat had cleared over 47,000 views in only five days! More updates to come!

    Hummingbird Heartbeat

This man has been hard at work, finishing two videos, producing a 30-minute documentary, and working a full 40-hour work week at my retail day job...but as of 1:00am this morning, it all paid off when I released this gem onto the world!

Above is the newest video from Kyle Jordan Mueller, this time joined by west coast sensation Savannah Outen. Together they recorded an original cover version of Katy Perry's "Hummingbird Heartbeat" and of course, I was there to film the damn thing! I was not alone this time though, for back in California Savannah's footage was filmed by the multi-talented Jake Coco, so much thanks and praise go out to him for a job well done!

I'm sure you will be seeing my plethora of statuses talking about the amount of views that this monster is gonna get, so keep an eye out and be prepared!

    Much love.

    How Is It Already Mid-July?

So the last couple of weeks have definitely flown by in the blink of an eye. My last update was on my birthday, July 1st, and I was looking forward to an already crazy weekend that included my party and filming OPTION//CONTROL opening for Maroon 5 at Fair Saint Louis.

Unfortunately things did not go as planned and on Sunday, July 3rd, a storm rolled through downtown Saint Louis that not only canceled the fair's events for that day, but also brought about the destruction of OPTION//CONTROL's equipment.

As we were hurried to shelter during the storm, which we have aptly named "Monsoon 5," the band was left with a false sense of security for their equipment, as stage hands tended to having it covered from the rain.

Inside a small single-wide trailer, we were crammed inside with Maroon 5's other opening act and we all waited as the monster storm just seemed to grow and grow. To make a long story short, the band grew restless and ran out to make sure that their equipment had been secured...which it had not.

I was lucky enough to have filmed many of the day's events and am currently working on a short video diary for the band to show their fans.

Last week I filmed another incredible drum cover with Kyle Jordan Mueller. He has collaborated with singer Savannah Outen to create an original cover version of an upcoming hit single (I will not say who or what 'til it comes out). I would expect to see the video within this week on YouTube.

Other than those two immediate projects, I continue to work on the Pointfest 28 video that will be coming out in August and with the release of Final Cut Pro X a few weeks back, I am now able to make the video even better than it was originally coming together. I am very stoked for its completion and am looking forward to future projects with the new software...no matter how many video editors hate on it.

    More updates soon...I swear.

"The Boy Wonder" Is Now Online

After another two months of work, "The Boy Wonder" is now online and streaming on YouTube and Vimeo!
I would like to thank everyone who helped put the short film together and especially those who took time out to come and act in it (Zack Long, Caleb Frazier, Matthew Watson, Christina Murray). Your involvement means the world to me and I absolutely could not have done this without you...of course I could have found other people, but then again...it just would not have been the same. ;-)
    So what's next?
    Graduation!
Today at 10:00am, I am graduating from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. I have been going hard the last two years since I transferred over from Webster University in 2009 and am leaving with a perfect...I said perfect 4.0 GPA over five semesters!
Let's hope that can keep me out of the funemployment line.
