You know that band that you loved as a teenager?... For my mom it was Journey, For my Dad it was The Rolling Stones... well for me, it was ORGY.

Ya know, that band that did "Blue Monday"?
They had more than one hit ya know, but I guess most people only know them for revamping a New Order track.

New Order, ya know?...

That band that did "Bizarre Love Triangle"?...
That band that used to be Joy Division?...
Ya know, Joy Division...
That band that did "Love Will Tear Us Apart"?...
That band that's lead singer (Ian Curtis) hung himself?

No not INXS...

Shit, I'm off track. Anyway, ORGY came to town last week on a tour appropriately titled "Bad Blood 2012." Why? Well, because lead singer Jay Gordon, released the remaining 4 members of ORGY from their business partnership in late 2011 and hired studio musicians to replace them. These players included 2 members of Deadsy (Carlton Bost and Ashburn Miller), Jamie Miller of The Start and Nic Speck of Run, Run, Run (both of whom, as a side note, I played with while touring with Nothing Still).

The show took place on the outskirts on St. Louis and at a small sports bar called "Brewskees." This was obviously either a booking catastrophe or a ploy by an idiotic promoter to make a bunch of money by booking this show at a smaller, unknown bar. Either way, it was more like an intimate rehearsal instead of the arena rock monster that I followed from 1998-2004. These guys were humbled and down to earth, and definitely didn't mind roaming the bar and talking to their devoted fans, which included myself and my best "girl"friend Miss EmilyG. I made sure to take advantage of this opportunity by sneaking in my Canon 7D to capture the event. I mean, this was something I would have killed to have seen as a 16 year old and now it was happening, why wouldn't I film it?!

Anyway, I threw together a highlight reel of the night's performance set to the original track of the song "Stitches" from their album Candyass. Enjoy it!

I checked my junk mail the other day and noticed that the promoter of this show sent me a response, defending his actions and trying to justify the fact that he did not make any money off of this show...

Well no shit, I WAS THERE.

What I was trying to say, was that your piss poor booking decisions and lack of proper promotion were the REASON that you made no money off of this show!

Hey, by the way... where was that porn star that was supposed to "host" the show? Cause I know I was there for at least 5 hours waiting for ORGY to play and never once saw this chick get on stage... How about that for promotion.

Good luck with your future endeavors.
